Recycling is big business these days, and there are many companies that specialise in picking up or collecting recyclable materials and processing them for reuse in other products.

In total, the recycling rate in Australia is about 46% of all waste generated. This represents about 15 million tonnes each year.

However, there is a wide variation in the level of recycling between different materials.

You can see what percentage is recycled of the materials shown below by clicking on the each material. See if you can work through them in order, starting with the highest level of recycling and finishing with the lowest.
